Kudu has several guards, all of whom have worked with/for Kudu for some years. They are all from the same city on Giedi Prime as Kudu. They were all in the same squad. When the squad's leader was killed, Kudu took charge and stopped the slave revolt that had killed the leader. He was rewarded with a promotion, and has looked out for the others ever since, making them his guards when he rose sufficiently high in rank to do so. They know him and trust him. They are loyal to him, and him to them.
